After the reform of the CET-4 and CET-6 exams, the CET-4 exam for college students now includes four main sections: writing, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and translation. The listening comprehension section consists of short news, long conversations, and listening comprehension exercises. The reading comprehension section includes vocabulary understanding, long passages, and multiple-choice questions. The translation section mainly tests paragraph translation.
According to the weightings, it is recommended that the time allocation for each section be as follows: 30 minutes for writing, 30 minutes for listening comprehension, 40 minutes for reading comprehension, and 30 minutes for translation.
